FAQs about Ordering
Q: How do I order?
A: The best way to order is through the On-line Catalog.

Add the items you want to your "shopping cart". View the cart, and select quantities, shipping method, delivery state for sales tax, optional Buy Now and Ship Later date, and then follow the payment process.

We use the PayPal service which accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Those without credit cards can send payment from their PayPal account.

Orders for pickup are also accepted via telephone at 978-264-9739, but credit cards cannot be taken over the phone.

NEW - Our toffee is now available at a number of farmstands and stores in Massachusetts (see 4th question).

Q: How long does it take to get my toffee after I order it?
A: Toffee ordered from the On-line Catalog is typically ready for pickup/shipment no later than 4 business days after it is ordered. During peak holiday seasons it may be longer.

If you wish to pick up the toffee from us, we will contact you as soon as it is ready. If you are having it shipped, you may select from 2 choices:
  • UPS Ground/USPS Priority Mail
  • UPS 2nd-Day Air
Overnight or other special delivery requests will be accommodated when possible (based on when the order is received, quantity required, etc.) Alternative shipping options are discussed on the UPS or USPS websites.

NOTE on Shipping - As the toffee is perishable, we will always ship the carrier (UPS or USPS) with the faster delivery. In most cases USPS Priority Mail is faster than UPS Ground. Should both carriers deliver the same day, we will make a judgement call. If 2nd Day Air is chosen we will compare against USPS offerings and contact you if there is a better choice. Either way, you will be provided with a tracking number for your order.

When payment is by check, the toffee will be shipped within 1 business day after your check has cleared.

Note that in peak holiday seasons we may require additional time. If this is the case, you will be notified.

Q: If I live locally can I pick up my toffee to save on the shipping costs?
A: Yes. Please call us at 978-264-9739 to arrange a pickup time. Make sure to select the "Local Pickup-No Delivery" option when choosing your shipping method.

Q: Can I purchase the toffee from any stores, or anywhere else?
A: Yes. Our toffee is currently available at the following locations. Note that each location carries different sizes and flavors, and sets their own pricing. Be aware that some stores are seasonal, and are not open all year long.

Q: Can you do special orders?
A: We will do our best to deliver your special requests. If you have a favorite nut or type of chocolate that is not specified in our catalog, we will attempt to make it for you. The price we quote you will depend on the quantity you order, when you need it and our time/cost to obtain the ingredients.

Q: Can I order toffee and have it shipped to someone else?
A: Yes! Make sure to include the "delivery" address with your order during the payment process.

Note: Only one delivery address is allowed per order. If you need to send to multiple locations, please order for each location separately, or contact us for other options.

Q: Can I order something now and have it shipped later?
A: Yes! "Buy Now and Ship Later" is a great option for those who like to shop early and eliminate last minute stress.

Towards the end of your shopping cart there is a text box for "Buy Now and Ship Later". Fill in this box with the date that you would like your order to be received. If this box is not filled in your order will be shipped as soon as possible (see question 2 on this FAQ). NOTE: If you fill in a date that UPS will not deliver on, your order will be delivered on the closest day BEFORE the date you specified.

Q: Do you give discounts for bulk orders?
A: Yes. Bulk orders are those that total over 25 pounds of toffee. Discounts are also given on orders of more than 50 Party Favor boxes. Other discounts may be available. Please ask!

Please use the Special Requests Form to provide us with the type of toffee, the quantity that you wish to order, any special packaging needs and when you want the toffee delivered. We will reply with a price quote.

Shipping is free for orders over $400.00 delivered within the continental US.

Q: What do you charge for shipping and handling?
A: Handling is combined with the shipping charge, and is not listed separately. The cost is based on the amount of toffee purchased and the shipping option chosen. Shipping charges are broken down as follows:

UPS Ground / USPS Priority Mail:
  • Up to $35.00 - Cost is $8.90
  • $35.01 - $80.00 - Cost is $11.40
  • $75.01 - $150.00 - Cost is $14.90
  • $150.01 - $400.00 - Cost is $19.15
UPS 3 Day Select:
  • Up to $35.00 - Cost is $29.00
  • $35.01 - $80.00 - Cost is $32.75
  • $75.01 - $150.00 - Cost is $40.00
  • $150.01 - $400.00 - Cost is $46.00
UPS 2nd Day Air:
  • Up to $35.00 - Cost is $34.00
  • $35.01 - $80.00 - Cost is $39.00
  • $75.01 - $150.00 - Cost is $47.00
  • $150.01 - $400.00 - Cost is $57.00

There is no shipping charge for orders over $400.00 delivered within the continental US.

Shipping is chosen in your shopping cart prior to beginning the payment process.

Note: Local customers may pickup their orders and save delivery costs. Select the "Local Pickup-No Delivery" option for shipping.

Q: Is there sales tax?
A: There is no sales tax on individual confectionery boxes, cello bags, or tin-tie bags of toffee, or on the purchase of gift certificates.

Gift cards and wrap, party favor/thank you boxes, and gift containers with toffee are taxable items. In your shopping cart there is a drop-down box for you to select a state. Please select the state WHERE YOUR ORDER WILL BE DELIVERED. A 6.25% sales tax will be added to applicable items if they are being delivered within Massachusetts. Orders delivered outside of Massachusetts are not subject to a sales tax.

Q: What is the price of your gift cards, and what are the choices?
A: Gift cards are $0.50, plus tax if ordered individually. Gift cards (and gift wrap) are included with all of our gift baskets.

When selecting a card, you may provide a personal message, which we will include on your card. If you do not provide a message, we will put "from Your_Name" on the card.

Our cards are 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" and come with white envelopes. We currently offer 12 cards with the following sayings to choose from:

Q: Do you have gift certificates?
A: Yes, gift certificates are available in 3 denominations:
  • $10.00
  • $15.00
  • $25.00
We process one delivery address per order. If you require delivery to multiple addresses, please submit each order separately. Multiple gift certificates to one address is OK.

We offer two options for shipping gift certificates:
  • In an envelope via US Mail - The gift certificate is sent in a matching white parchment envelope via US Mail. There is no additional charge. NOTE: If you are only purchasing gift certificates with envelopes, during payment, make sure to select the "Local Pickup-No Delivery" shipping option so that you are not charged extra for shipping. If you are purchasing other items to be shipped, then select the appropriate UPS option.
  • Gift Boxed - The gift certificate is packaged inside a gold pillow box that is dressed with a fluffy, curly bow. The cost of this option is $3.00 plus any shipping charges.
If a delivery address is not provided during the payment process, the gift certificate is sent to the invoice address with the "To" and "From" lines left blank. If the gift certificate is shipped to a delivery address, the "To" and "From" lines are filled in using the Delivery (To) and Invoice (From) names.

A gift certificate expires one year from the date of purchase, or, if you opt to "Buy Now and Ship Later" it will expire one year from the date that we ship it.

Q: How do I redeem my gift certificate?
A: Your gift certificate may be used to purchase any of our products. Only one gift certificate may be used per order. Gift certificates expire one year from the date of purchase, or one year from the date shipped if the Buy Now and Ship Later option was used. This date is shown on the Gift Certificate.

Your gift certificate has a unique "Voucher Number". In your shopping cart, before beginning the payment process you will be asked to enter this number and click on the "Recalculate" button. If the number is entered correctly you should see the voucher value deducted from your cost. We will also verify the information you enter against the records we have for each certificate number.

If after using your gift certificate you have a credit, we will mail you a check with your order.

Q: Do you sell your products wholesale?
A: Yes, we do sell our toffee wholesale as well as retail. Contact us for a current product and price list.

Q: Do you sell your customer list?
A: Absolutely not. Never. We don't like that either.
